Durrrf, I'm moving to a new apartment tomorrow (er, today actually) and since I have no idea when I'll get my internet connection back, I thought I'd post and entry while I still can.

Now some Waughan. I changed his first name to Blaine by the way, it sounds...better. Not that it has much effect, his last name is used 90% of the time anyway. (I also remembered that Blaine was the name of the damn annoying, arrogant, riddle-loving monorail in the Dark Tower too, lmao. How fitting. I loved him. )

It's just probably me but I'm starting to get some David Bowie vibe from him xDDDD

Some random testing...He doesn't really smoke, he's actually quite a health nut. But smoking occasionally is one bad habit he allows himself in certain circumstances...

Just a couple of headshot commissions again.

As some of you may remember, I'm working with a comic project atm~ It's just in the beginning, as I'm still writing the story...and it's kinda getting weird, even though I promised myself to keep it simple because the chance to fail lessens xDDD
But I also have really many doubts all the time, like "why would anyone read something like this?" "why cares about this and this anyway?" "how the hell am I going to draw that..." and so on...BUT I kick myself in the head a lot and force myself to keep going aha. I have to remind myself that I'm doing this for ME so I should not care if nobody wants to read it. Yeah. So I'm not backing up, I promised myself I'd do this thing and so I will, GRRRR D: It's just not very easy for me ;___;

I also watched the first two seasons of Higurashi no naku koro ni. The art syle isn't really my favourite (cute lolis with big big eyes guhh) but everyone said the story was good so I gave in. I guess my tolerance towards cute lolis grew because of this show ahahah. Anyway, the structure of the show is really interesting, I liked it.

Drawing linearts without pressure sensitivity was pretty tedious at first but the results look pretty nice :0

Anyway, let me introduce to you my characters Deecon and Arella. (Both of their names mean "the messenger" btw. ) They're private investigators...because I needed them for my story XD Haha, I feel like appointing actors for certain roles now. I guess creating characters this way is good because they will immediately have a place in the story.

Anyway, they try their everything to keep their real identities safe and so they must be able to trust each other by 100%. They wear heavy makeup and almost everything in them is fake. They switch their identities daily and it's difficult to say which one of them was Arella yesterday and which one is her today. So and yeah, they kinda swap their genders with their names as well xD But you can't really tell if they're actually a male and a female or if it's just a camouflage, too...

Also, nobody knows if they're siblings/related or have they gone as far as used a plastic surgeon because they look so much alike. Oh, they're terrible fashion critics, too. They criticize everyone's outfits every day and 90% of the time their comments are negative xD

Tee hee, I can't wait to tell about them in the story because these two have such an unique relationship.

I had to try the same technique for my Mel too. It's been...uh...years since I last drew linearts digitally and now I kinda remember why x'D Anyway, there's something in the uniformity of the lines that I like...

Man, actual paintings really do look better in life...anyway, this is a copy of a painting done by John White Alexander. I had a pretty bad copy scanned from a book to use as a reference lmao...It doesn't look 100% like the original one but our teacher said the painting as a whole is more important than accurate details...well, I guess >_>

Guess who eheh? x'D We had to paint a portrait of someone...

I fail with acrylics. One of the teachers asked if I was influenced by anime/manga when they saw this...well, not on the style but on the story side actually...But still, I sometimes wonder if I have this anime aura around me because one teacher told me not to draw manga even though she had never even seen my stuff...wtf?

Yeah probably nobody is interested in my photography but I love this old clock <3 it's also a bit creepy, it might start randomly ticking even though it shouldn't be working anymore...

I've also got to show these weird...things...These are presents from my cousin x'D She made the one on the right herself. (The one on the left is called Mörkkis)

I'm actually going to do a cheapo cosplay of Naoto because my cousin is dragging me to a con in the summer and everyone else in our group is cosplaying someone so I guess I have to, too;;; I chose her because I realized that I dress a bit like her anyway and my new haircut looks like hers.
I just have to leave her coat out because a) I can't sew and b) I can't sew.

Lol I'm laughing how it looks like thye guy in the white suit is looking at the body doodle above him x'D Also, the bald guy with tattoo reminds me how I don't have any bald characters myself...Apparently because I love hair too much. Not that I mind baldness, hair has nothing to do with how awesome a character is but it's hard for me to...not draw any hair ahaha. So when/if I'll create a bald character I'll have to substitute the hair with something else, like a complicated tattoo.

Some random guy in a suit (I referenced the suit a bit). I really need to practise drawing business suits better for my comic project...And even though I (obviously) have a thing for them, I dear lord hope I won't get bored XD

I'm trying to think what kind of clothes Mel wears during his (pretty non-existent) leisure time. That plant is not his either btw, he would probably kill anything living in his apartment by forgetting to water them...

Oh yeah, my summer vacation started OH YEAAAHH
(well, I still have to write an art history essay+attend one test but THOSE ARE NOTHING)

I'll laze around for a couple of weeks but I'll surely start craving something....useful to do after a while. So, here's my to-do list for the summer:

- Study muscles and anatomy
- Learn to read the cyrillic alphabet (lol I guess this won't be terribly useful because I don't understand Russian anyway, but I see these letters a lot and it just started annoying me that I couldn't read them ahaha)
- Study some kanji....
- Draw the 30-something-page CG comic thing I was supposed to draw a year ago as a warm-up
- Open commissions!

Yeah...that should be enough.

Well, I don't really miss my teen years that much...

Also, the guy in the bg is one of my OCs. Because I have nobody else to talk to, I talk with my imaginary people.

Finally a proper CG of Runner :D (for those who are interested, here are all my character profiles...well not all but I'll keep the section updated: link)

LOL what's with this very...gay costume? x'D I was just searching for cap references and somehow..this happened.

I'm oddly fond of this one...I screwed up with some of the lines but I think I may try doing something like this again and draw even something more complicated *__*

Our typography lessons might have affected me somehow because I feel like shoving typography everywhere...

Oh btw, how do my image sizes look? I can't really tell if they're OK because I'm using a bigger monitor now than before and the sizes confuse me ahaha;;;

Some life stuff atm:

* I FINALLY got my full driver's license! It's been seriously bugging me, too much even...I was terrified because I thought my driving sucked and it would be shameful to come back and say "hello, I've come back after two years after getting my temporary card but I have learned NOTHING". To my surprise, it went really well and I had absolutely no problems driving...I really seem to be great at making a mountain out of a molehill :(
...I'll still stick with public transportation anyway

* I'm also a bit confused about my life situation atm. A classmate of mine asked me to move together with her which would be great...but at the same time, I've also applied to another uni as well. Moving together might cease my eagerness to move somewhere else though, because the main thing that's troubling me is loneliness...simply .___. I guess it doesn't really matter where I study after all, because there are so many more meaningful things that actually do.
Oh well, I accepted her offer because seriously, there's like a 1% chance for me getting in...but still, a chance exists anyway and I'll go for it, too.

And o god I can't believe I'm actually going to start drawing a comic...x'D Ever since I wrote about it I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Go me! I hope to get something (not sure what ahaha) started in the summer. I don't really have a passion for comics but I have a passion for telling stories. I hope that's enough.
(Perhaps drawing comics becomes a passion for me while working with this project...)

I'm also pondering about the future of my stories :/ (webcomic, someday?)

Urgh I hate it when I suddenly become busy and have to get a million things done in the same time =__=;; Anyway, now I finally have time to post something again.

So yeah, Nichola is Waughan's daughter. She has lots of her father's features, like the wide, thin mouth and shape of the face. She's really pushy and forces everyone to get along with her x'D (She actually gets along with Mel really well which alone is a sign of her "speciality")
She's also really athletic and loves sports.

It's easy to recognize this as a class doodle XD they always look something like this with me...

Oh man, I have so much to talk about...but I'll guess I'll save some of it for a later time.
But anyway, one important thing I have on my mind is the future of my original stories...I read Saimain's journal last month about how she will stop writing her novels and continue telling her stories through her paintings. It really made me think...and it made me lose my sleep too, haha x'D (well, I had to wake up at 5.30 AM that day but anyway). Life is really too short for doing things that are not worth it or postponing things forever. I think I'm not in a great hurry with my stories but hell, I'll turn 20 this month and soon I notice that I'm 30 and I haven't gotten anything done :/

I would like to share what's in my head but my excuse is always that I don't have enough skills yet...but I'll never get these skills I want if I don't practise. Also there's this uncertainty I have: I'll never write books but I'm sure I won't be satisfied just by telling my stories through paintings, either. My stories rely heavily on character development and interaction and I don't think I could express all that with just illustrations. So, I think comic is the only choice for me...But I am more an illustrator than a comic artist. Hell, I'll draw one, big picture in the same time as an comic artist draws twenty.

But as I said earlier, comic is the only option so I've got to start doing something about it. I was thinking that maybe I really should draw one of my stories for practice...I already know it will fail so much but...it's the best that I do the mistakes now and not later. Also, I realize that I will gain nothing by doing nothing.

...the only problem is that the story I feel like drawing now is the one about Mel & co, BUT the story is the most incomplete one x'D So the beginning of my webcomic era will be postponed a bit after all. I'm moving somewhere anyway and that alone is a good thing.

What would you think about mp3 sharings? Any takers?

I have tons of music on my HD and I love mp3 sharings so I thought I perhaps could do my part as well. There's probably something for everyone, unless your taste in music is completely different than mine ahaha;;; ~~Then again, I can try to convert you..~~

I would just like to know if it would be worthwhile :0

Also, where should I host them? Should I upload every song separately or all together?

I've been testing SAI a bit, and damn it blends stuff so nicely <3 It feels like a combination og Open Canvas and Painter...(albeit very simple when compared). I may have to buy the full version since it's relatively cheap! (50 bucks or something like that)

I don't remember posting this ine either *scratches head*. Rev looking gloomier than usual.

Haeth looking peaceful and somehow...gentle? The picture makes me wonder if Haeth made a good mother when growing up...Perhaps if things had gone differently between her and Rev, he is definitely the "let's settle down and build a home of our own with some kids"-type. Oh well xD /end of OC blah blah

Meet a new character of mine! He is about two months old. Once again, the way I created him is really stupid xDDDD I thought " HEY I don't think I've ever drawn a character with a goatee, let's try" and next "lol because he looks so scruffy and buff, I wonder how he would look with nerdy glasses" AND HERE WE GO my mind started immediately connecting him with my stories and I had to keep him OTL.

Pace's special skills are being on everyone's way and being totally useless. He's picky about everything and apparently loves complaining, even without a reason. He's super rich though, being a heir...(and ta-dah, I managed to create and asshole character once again xD The newest characters before him are Waughan and Mel and neither of them is particularly nice. Where have the good characters gone..?)

I'm still wondering about his clothes...why do these characters have to live in a modern world because creating fantasy outifts would be so much easier ahahaha

Mel's worst nightmare

I was thinking about applying Taik again (I took the entrance exams for the university last year but didn't get in). Altho I'm not quite sure I even want there anymore because I don't have unique enough design style for them >> and like 4-6% of the applicants get in anyway so I don't expect anything. BUT I still want to try because I feel really restless...I miss the excitement! And I hear many thinking "omg where should I apply?" and I feel "ahhh I want to be in that situation again, too!"
I really seem to have enjoyed these stressful situations haha. I'm crazy XD
I also think it might help me to concentrate on my current studies in the university where I'm now if I don't get in. I would stop wanting to go somewhere else and get my Bachelor's degree here then.

Okay, this series turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I had read pretty controversial reviews about it and that is really wouldn't be for everyone...well, a series like that always interests me so I picked it up. And I wasn't disappointed.

...just LOL why did everyone want to sleep with Ichise in the beginning, geez? xD And he was having the same, blank stare all the time like he wouldn't care about anything. It was like:

Crazy woman in the beginning: "I'll have sex with you and poke your eye"
Ichise: " :| "

Doc lady: "Now that you've lost two limbs and lie there helplessly, I'll have sex with you."
Ichise: " :| "

Gay dad: "I want to have sex with him" *handgropes Ichise*

x'D erm. But anyway. The first episodes are pretty disturbing and it sure isn't the happiest series in the world, either.

Kaiba: Really sweet and original :3 I liked it lots. It's amazing how something as cute looking as that can also be so touching D: <3 What a visual ride, too.

Ghost Hound: A pretty...hm...weird one. One of the most slow-paced animes I've seen, too. Not that it's a bad thing, though...I liked eerie atmosphere and the psychological aspects + sweet characters, too. I guess the only downfall must be the ending, sadly D:

I think I really should watch some mainstream animes next time, otherwise I soon won't be able to watch them at all LMAO.

Why Garamanth fails at teaching Fjännir how to play cards....and this is prolly amusing only to myself XD But it kind of tells a lot about Fjen, and I guess he would rather lose deliberately than win against his "master".

Stupidity with Waughan and Mel.

Portrait of Waughan...I was trying to get rid of my old, a bit dried inks so I went a bit wild with them xD

Waughan is such a jerk. Altho Mel is no better in a way...(oh btw, I finally decided on his last name which is Bianchi. For some reason I associate Mel with Italian heritage, even tho a country called Italy doesn't really exist in his world ahaha)

Random: I'm in the middle of watching Ghost Hound and a couple of syndromes, Cotard's and Capgras', were mentioned...I'm familiar with Capgras syndrome(it makes you think your family etc are replaced by fakes) but I had no idea what Cotard's syndrome was...It makes one believe that he is missing organs or blood, or he is dead or doesn't exist. Some people also feel they are decaying. I mean...how must it be like to feel you're decomposing? Asdfgh I can't get it out of my mind x'D

Merry Christmas for everyone who is reading my journals, for commenters and lurkers alike <3

I feel a bit more peaceful this Christmas than usually. Christmas hasn't really meant much for me in years...because I'm not a religious person, nor do I care about the presents and the commercial side doesn't help much, either.
But...millions of people celebrating Christmas are trying to make the day a good one. Some might succeed better, some worse. But at least they try, somehow. Even for one day. And that makes feel even a bit happier today.

Whoa haha Waughan kinda sticks out x'D I was hesitated to create an older character for long because I wasn't sure I was mentally old enough for a character like him xDDD Oh well, it's really fun to play with him as I can do so many things with him that I can't do with other characters: I.e he's already DIVORCED and he has TWO teenager KIDS. Usually with my characters a relationship ends when the other one dies, eh *hopeless romantic*.

Mel, Runner, Saeke.
I originally intended to make Mel a blonde but I decided this looks a bit better. Besides I had a terrible urge to call him a princess all the time with his big, golden curly hair, lmao. (tho now his looks are rather close to Eustache's, with those glasses and all). Saeke's shirt says "You're stupid...if you don't go out with me". I've got to say he's stupid himself by already wearing that shirt, haha (are you blinded by those colors already, too? x'D)

Juillian, Eden, Agen.
I oddly feel happy just by looking at Juillian. Reckon I should draw him more often. Also, in case you wonder about those scribbles next to Agen: He can't open his right eye and he often draws some random (sometimes crappy) decorations over it just for fun and to shock people, haha.

I can't promise that all the texts are 100% coherent, I still need to check everything through and perhaps rephrase things a bit better. But now I finally have a proper place for my characters for commissioning and art trade purposes <3

It's STILL missing some characters but I thought they need some more time so I'll keep updating the site laters.
I also noticed that I created tons of characters during 2005, wth...Like...60% of my characters? I don't know why! x'D

Also: Yay, I'm really getting a new desktop computer finally in early January <3 With 22" Eizo monitor BD I'm gonna draw SO MUCH when my hardware troubles are over.
I feel such a nerd because all my talk has been lately like "Is E8400 a better choice than Q6600? It's a 3.0 GHz processor and that one has 2.4 GHz! But it's a quad core...Hey that one has one terabyte hard drive, do I need that much? Should I take that one with 4 Gb memory..What about the graphics card, how much VRAM does that one have?" etc etc etc *dies*

I wanted to redraw their profile pictures but I figured I would never get them done if I drew them the usual way..so the fastest way to get them done was to draw small busts, scan and use flat colors. I still kinda think flats don't suit my style (I never use them either..) and ugh I feel like I already want to redraw most of these but they fill their purpose so I'll let them be..for now >>

Gah my website doesn't seem to progress because of my lazyass coder x'D I'm just an apprentice when it comes to coding so I can't do the difficult stuff on my own.

Oh, and for some reason, figure drawing classes made me feel a bit better about my skills..I thought I would've sucked more since I've never drawn live models but..I kinda realized that I can actually see, and my drawings weren't half bad. I believe what my eyes see, pretty much. Well, of course they weren't perfect but enough for me, anyway.
We'll see if I'll be able to do more figure drawing in the future now that this course is over :P Hopefully..

Pale Cocoon:
a pretty 22 minute sci-fi OVA. It had a similar history archival system (and the excavation thing) that I actually had in mind for one of my own stories >> Oh well..the setting is different so maybe I shouldn't feel bad about that x'D Anyway, Pale Cocoon was a really nice watch for me.

Diary of Tortov Roddle:
A very storybook feeling, fairytale kind of animation. A bit surreal, too. I don't know, it's really pleasant to watch something like this once in a while :)

Sweat Punch series:
Okay wtf xD That was a whacky series. Very....groovy.And trippy. Cool animation. My fav was Kigeki (Comedy) which was oddly...creepy x'D It was fun when the setting was pretty dark and serious and then the girl hits the swordsman with a rock lmao. And gets a kick in the face. I liked the atmosphere, anyway.

Digital Juice series:
More trippy Studio 4C° stuff (curse of gas FTW) and what's with Kin Jin Kitto? I've been to that artist's website before, accidentally..(NOW WHERE IS IT because the works are amazing)

I don't know what's going on here x'D 100% ballpoint pen..because those pens are just so much fun! I love using ballpoints but I realized I really haven't drawn anything proper with them..so I drew this on A3 paper.

Ahahaha I feel so awkward when I'm around people..That's pretty weird because I LOVE different people, I could sit hours listening to their opinions and ideas..But somehow I'm still in the background. I guess it's just because I really haven't found people here in my new school who are on the same wavelength as me =/ Idk, many people here have many things in common with me, but..Perhaps the only people who are on the same "wavelength" are those whom I've known for a long time, and of course, I've known these people only a few months. I'm most likely too much in a hurry.

Still, I feel being alone with my thoughts. *sigh*

I've also been wondering if I was in a too much hurry when I applied to a university..I've realized now that I'd like to learn how to draw, because I want to become a very skilled illustrator. I'm just missing the beforementioned skills. I need instructed teaching since I think I'd learn pretty quickly, considering how much I've learned on my own.
But now..it seems we're concentrating on the professional studies, and the main focus in graphic design isn't learning to draw, really..of course we have art courses but they're pretty short and we have so much other stuff to do as well.
I feel so indecisive :/

and apparently I'm hiding my RL rants in my art posts again. Hrmf.

On the brighter side, my website is 60% finished :D

Let's get the stupid part done first:

I don't even know what I'm actually mocking.

Some "I drew these during lectures that were kinda boring but I wanted to listen anyway so I drew these to concentrate"-doodles

When Code Geass ended a couple fo weeks ago, I had to draw this. I was a bit afraid how the ending would turn out, since the pacing in the last episodes was a bit bad..and too quick. But I think the ending was very fitting.

I haven't CGed in a while :( I miss it.

My last post was the first one after moving..and since then, I haven't really drawn much .__. I could use the time I have well and really use traditional media more. I was thinking about drawing a comic so I'd have a bigger project to work with but I concluded that developing the plot etc takes too much time. I guess I should just draw a pure impro comic so I'd have at least something to draw, even if it ended up being crappy xp

I really hate being this dependent on computers, but I noticed that lacking one has made me notice that it has some negative effects on me. Since I have less things to do without it, I have more time to think..to think about my own problems. That's not good.

Also, I've heard this many times, but now I really have come to believe it.."don't blame your environment for your unhappiness". I have moved away from home, away from familiar circumstances and people..thinking that a fresh start would change everything. But it really hasn't. That's because the problem is in me, meaning I should change myself rather than the things around me. No matter where I lived, I would end up being unhappy because I carry the darkness with me everywhere.
But I don't know what to do..I can't fight on my own anymore. I've been seriously thinking about meeting a psychologist who could at least tell me if I need some treatment or not. I can't determine that by myself, not anymore.

One other thing would be to try to turn all these black thoughts into strength I can use in my works.

I sound a bit depressing, don't I? xD I assure you, I'm not depressed or anything that bad, my state of mind seems to be a bit melancholy permanently, lmao.

I still have no computer but I'm happy to be back home to use my old one BD It's slow and all but it will suffice for now

I think I've settled down pretty well. I have felt no homesickness. And I'm almost disappointed because of that, haha...But I guess it just means I was ready to leave for long.

My flat mate seems to be quite OK. She's a French exchange student, studying law in our uni xD It just bothers me that I haven't gotten into much touch with her, but I guess we'll have time..she's staying for a year and I'm not getting a new apartment in a while.

Living without a computer is a bit boring, that I've noticed..and it's a bit difficult, too, because our university uses internet for pretty much everything. But I guess one plus side is that I've taken part in EVERY social event there is out of boredom lmao XD and I've cycled randomly in the city just because I had nothing better to do. (I think my physical condition has already gotten better, too x'D )

I still can't say anything about studying here though..We've had some lessons but I'm still missing proper work. We're getting started pretty slowly xp Our first Photoshop lesson was pretty fun though; we began with PS CS2 (which I have myself..)so I just drew something most of the time because I pretty much knew everything already (yeah, "I don't know how to use layers" and so on x'D)

It just sucks that I won't be taking this computer with me and it'll take some time before I can get the laptop our uni is offering..I'll most likely get it around October. |:
HOW AM I GOING TO SURVIVE UNTIL THEN NOOOOOOOOOooooo

Oh well, I might borrow a laptop for internet surfing or then I'll just check my messages in school/library/home..Of course I can't do any CG work but..I guess it's a chance for me to concentrate on traditional art.

But still, this sucks. .__.

Sooo, my two weeks as a teacher are over :D I'm kinda relieved. It wasn't that bad, but I still haven't changed my mind about teaching..But now I guess I can be a little bit more prepared in a similar situation.

Some experiences:

- The beginning was stiff as hell but I overcame my excitement pretty quickly. Then it was all routine.
- I had to rebuke one student a few times. He was disturbing the class so I just let everyone else go earlier and made him sit with me in the class until it was OK to go and explained him why his behavior wasn't acceptable xD He also got many furious looks from me during lessons.
- Then I also had to blackmail some students XD Some boys wouldn't do their work so I just told them that they wouldn't be able to go to computer lab(or whatev)if they did nothing...and it worked x'D
- Some students ended up calling me heartless because one boy had a doctor's appointment and I wouldn't let his friend join him XD
- There was this one day when no door seemed to open for me lmao! I tried to open one classroom with my key but the door wouldn't budge..The students started already wondering if I was able to open it at all. Then they were all like "WHOA, she actually DID get it open!"
..Then it happened with another class and another door x'D

CONS:
- Teaching is nice when everything goes smoothly, but I don't think I could handle lots of difficult students for a long time (i.e doing this for a living)
- You also have to take lots of work home (and I was only a substitute: what about those who actually work as teachers?)
- For the most of the time I had no idea what the hell I was even doing because I got no instructions from my teacher. She just told me to do as I saw best. << (and I thought: Is she serious? She can't trust me that much!

PROS:
- I was really close saying "no" to it, but I must admit I feel a bit proud saying "yes" anyway because I was terrified at first
- It was fun to listen when some boys talked about Naruto and Bleach hahaha xDDD
- It felt good when students were active and wanted to learn
- I had a small competition for the youngest students in my last day, and the results showed that the kids had actually learned something. It was also nice to see their faces when they got their prizes. (I also got some candy for those who won nothing). Smiles and "thank you"s were my prizes.

(haha I guess this is how it's supposed to be, right?)

I also tested my new sketching style for these: I happened to create a whole new method just because I was SO frustrated at my sketching..it has always been the hardest part for me. But now things are looking brighter, and although I don't think the new style changes my drawings much, it makes my life a bit easier. (I've always had the habit of sketching too hard even though everybody has said to sketch lightly. Old habits are hard to break..but now I finally got rid of it! I didn't even realize what a change it made >> In my new style I move the pencil really lightly on the paper, keeping it moving all the time and letting the main shapes become visible that way. Next I'll make the corrections etc and strenghten the main lines. )

Series:

Akagi: Did I know anything about mahjong before watching this? No. Did I want to know everything about it afterwards? YES.

Blood+: Hmm. I'd say it was an OK anime. It had some flaws and felt even a little bit childish at some points, but I tried not to let them bother me (damn Production I.G and the "quality animation" sometimes, too). This series killed a couple of my fav characters too, dammit. Anyway, Haji is hot. Not only because of the way he looks but also because he carries around a cello <3 *fans self* I love string instruments. The end was satisfying, too. (Although I sorta think a bit more unhappier ending would've been a bit more dramatic, haha..yeah yeah, and I always complain about some series killing my fav characters, what a hypocrite)

Code Geass: Ah, this series is so my style. Except for a few little things..well, I really damn dislike the occasional cheesecake and fan service, plus the school episodes are quite..embarrassing, ugh. (they do manage to be funny sometimes, tho) I guess they're supposed to balance the otherwise heavy and serious tone of the series, but...Anyway, I love Lelouch and all the drama and tragedies, yes..

Cowboy Bebop:An entertaining series, and funny, too. I thought the soundtrack would drive me nuts but it was actually very fitting. And the final song is lovely ;__; *sob*

Death Note: Yes yes, I'm a DN fan, so of course I had to like the anime version as well. I must also mention that the soundtrack of this series is one of my favourites!

Ergo Proxy: I thought this was one of those sci-fi blam blam "let's shoot huge robots!"type of series, but instead it was pure mindfuck. I found it pleasant. Oddly, Vincent became my fav character, when I thought there was finally a main female character I might like, haha..Overall, I'm not sure if I knew what was going on most of the time, but it's fiiiiine. Loved the OP.

FLCL:. I'll just say I think I didn't really get this series..I guess series like those demand many viewing times..but..I rarely feel like doing that, so I guess I should blame myself x'D Anyway, it was a refreshing watch, actually.

Fullmetal Alchemist: I don't belong to the group that hates the anime because the manga is so much better. Even that the fact is so, I don't think the anime version was bad. I also got the impression that the mangaka herself requested an alternative ending so it's fine by me.

Gankutsuou: Now now another series with drama and tragedy! It fits my taste so well. (Not that I don't mind the bl allusions either x'D). Even though it left me a bit unsatisfied with some parts, this series is one of my favourites. I felt so empty when I was finished watching it ;_; I loved the Count <3 (and for some reason, I didn't find it odd one bit that his skin color was blue x'D I barely noticed it!)

Gilgamesh:Another anime I think I didn't really quite understand, it was a bit..odd. The art style was pretty refreshing, but I really couldn't get any contact to the characters, so it really didn't seem to matter what happened to them. The ending was especially confusing, leaving me with all "...uh, wth?"

Haibane Renmei: I loved the slice-of-life feeling and tranquility of the series. Perhaps not one of my favourites, but I still found it charming and I liked it for that.

Kaiji: Hahahaha the best art style I've seen in a loooong time! I totally loved it immediately when I watched the first episode. It also surprised how intense and exciting it was: I was on the edge of my seat many times. It's also great how Kaiji isn't beatable, but how he actually loses and the losses are heavy, too..So yeah, it's not a very light series. Also, thumbs up for the OST! (No wonder I liked it because the same composer also worked with the DN soundtrack)

Kino's Journey(+"Movies"): A nice little series with some thought. The stories were sometimes rather amusing, and not always happy ones. Sometimes a bit cruel if I may say so..it was also nice how Kino reacted to the happenings: She accepted things calmly as they were, not panicking "OMG we must make things better!". Some stories felt a bit too fairytale-like for my tastes in some points but it's fine.

Last Exile: It's been some time since I saw it, but from what I remember I overall enjoyed and liked the series, but the main characters really didn't stay in my mind and of course they had to kill the characters I liked.*mumble*

Le Chevalier D'Eon: Cross-dressing and zombies with a historical setting? Works for me!

Mononoke: asdfgh I demand MORE! Too short. At first I really thought it wouldn't be the emotional kind of series, but oh how wrong I was..I was almost crying because of a few episodes. I should not forget the interesting art style either, and Kusuriuri is awesome <3

Monster: A great psycholgical thriller, highly recommended! (manga version is OK too,it's practically the same). Also the first ED, "for the love of life" by David Sylvian, is one of my favourites. It felt so haunting and even creepy after the oppressing events in the anime..(David Sylvian also seems to haunt me, he's almost everywhere..)

Mushishi:This must be one of my all time favourites now! It somehow made me feel...calm. The mushi made me wish they were real and there was something special, inexplicable and mystical in this world. Also, I love nature and this series even added my respect towards it. Mushishi is a really beautiful and thoughtful series. Loved it.

Neon Genesis Evangelion(+movies): I actually watched this just a short time ago! Man I felt I was SO late..Everyone else seems to have seen it already and it's like the anime. But..on the other hand, I don't think I would've understood it if I saw it when I was younger! That said, it was a good series in my opinion. I even liked Asuka, even though I usually hate the noisy, annoying, too arrogant type of female characters..But she was so broken that I couldn't help but to like her. Hell, everyone was broken so I loved them all.

Noein: I'm not entirely sure what to think about this one. I guess it was interesting enough...nothing super amazing but entertaining nonetheless. Parallel universe mumbo-jumbo is always interesting haha! (or confusing) Atori and Tobi were my fav characters.

Paranoia Agent: A bit nuts but I think it was really good. Some of the episodes have really stayed in my mind.

Serial Experiments Lain: I wanted to watch this series for years, but like with NGE, I was glad I didn't watch this earlier for the same reason: I probably wouldn't had understood it back then. Well, I'm not saying I got it 100% even now, but I just felt that way..I had also read about similar themes earlier that were present in the anime so it was really interesting to follow.

Saikano: Complete waste of time. Thank god it was a short one..(I really must have been bored to watch this)

Samurai Champloo: It was fun! I kinda missed some kind of greater plot but it was entertaining to follow anyway, and I liked the main trio. I remember it made me hungry many times, haha! Fuu was always eating with such pleasure xD

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: One word to describe this one: EPIC. I liked it. It was fast, surprising, crazy and heck, even touching. Thumbs up.

Toward the Terra(2007): At first I laughed at the clothes the characters were wearing and then for the cliches and then because Jomy was so annoying. Everything felt used and like we had seen it all before. Anywaaay, I've got to respect the original manga (run 1977-1980!), since all of that was new and revolutionary at the time. And despite the stuff that made me grit my teeth, I kinda ended up liking the series after all, because in the end, it had many elements that pleased me. (Also the characters got better, more drama and the plot tightened. Oh, and the killing of nice characters. Yes. It really wasn't the happiest series I've seen.)

Witch Hunter Robin: Humm, this is a difficult one. I somehow think it was dragging a bit and was even a bit slow..and I'm generally OK with slow paces. I don't know, I guess I'm trying to say it was a bit uninteresting. I liked Robin though, she was a bit different from the usual young female leads.

Wolf's Rain: it feels like forever since I saw this..An OK series. The main quartet was likable :) Wolves! I still can't decide if the ending was happy or not, though!

X/1999: Uh nothing much to say about this since I rather opt for the manga..but at least it offered some kind of an ending so it was good to watch in a way. (;__;)

Movies:

5 centimeters per second: This must be visually one of the most beautiful animes I've ever seen! My god, the sunsets and sunrises, the shadows and the lights..all the colors. Gorgeus. The genre isn't reaaally my type, but there's something in Makoto Shinkai's movies that touch me... It might be even one sentence or a simple thought that makes them worth watching. For a brief moment, I kind of felt being exactly on the same wavelenght with the movie, if I can say so..

Appleseed: lol, watched this only because it was in the TV..I sort of got the feeling that it tried to be rather deep but ended up recycling old ideas. I don't know..I guess I should also mention that I watched the really old, animated version with my cousin, too, haha.

The Cat Returns: uhh...I don't know what to say about this one. I guess it wasn't that memorable..a pity since I love cats. I loved Haru's clumsiness, anyway xD

Darkisde Blues: ..no comment

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time: It made me smile and laugh many times. Funny :) I'm not sure how well the ending worked, though..

Grave of the Fireflies: Yeah, war is great, that is what this anime showed at least..

Howl's Moving Castle: I didn't really believe it, but I liked the movie. Of course, I loved Howl and Sophie wasn't a bad characer, either. Haha, I watched this for the second time with my cousin and when the end came and there was this rather romantic scene, her boyfriend called and there I listened to her talk with him with such a loving way..The call paired with the movie, I felt pretty lovelorn at the moment x'D

Metropolis: I remember watching this alongside with Spirited Away, and it made more impact on me than the latter, haha! Do I fail as an anime fan now..? I loved this movie.

My Neighbour Totoro: It's a very nostalgic movie for me, I first saw it when I was 6..I loved the cat bus back then xD I drew it everywhere and when I later found the drawings, I really wanted to see the movie again. Haha sadly I got to say that seeing the movie again kind of destroyed some of the magic, since I didn't really remember much about the movie and because of that, it felt kind of...mystical and unreachable.

Paprika: mm. When it comes to visuals it was pleasing to watch. It didn't really stay in my mind any other way it seems >>;; Messing with reality is close to my interests, though.

Perfect Blue: A good psychological thriller, yes.

The place promised in our early days:Another Makoto Shinkai's movie..I've got to say 5 centimeters per second was better, but this one was really beautiful both on the visual and thought side. The scifi-ish stuff made me go a bit "...what?" though, haha.

Princess Mononoke: This must be my fav Miyazaki movie this far! I really didn't feel bored while watching this even though it's pretty lenghty for an anime movie. I loved the gods and the kodama.

Spirited Away: Probably everyone is going to brick me now, but this one didn't really own my heart..Don't get me wrong, I love Miyazaki's imagination and it was great to watch in any way. I loved all the spirits and Haku, too. Still, I felt a bit awkward when everyone else was all "omg it's the best movie I've ever seen!"

Steamboy: Ah, steampunk! It was great to watch if nothing else, at least. I loved Scarlett's white outfit at the ending part.

Tales from the Earthsea: It didn't really quite impress me, sadly..I liked Arren though.

Tekkon Kinkreet: I was a bit doubting at first, but I loved the movie! Oh my, the backgrounds, the backgrounds! It really made me want to draw buildings..I pretty much think it would be suitable for me as well, since there's the possibility to do some serious detailing, haha. I just don't know where to start..

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust: D was a nice character! (His colored earrings made me chuckle a bit) Also, the ending wasn't quite the like one could've expected knowing the genre..Overall, a nice movie. And everyone (should) know I love vampires. Even though most of the time they're being hunted hahaha

XXXHolic: The movie: Um..pretty to watch. Imaginative. Yuuko rocks in any format.

Man, I'm so bad at commenting movies.
...and I'm not going to count the Pokemon movies I watched as a kid LMAO

EDIT: Anyone know anything about laptops?

I must get a new computer when I'm moving, but apparently I should also take the laptop our university is offering since it has all the programs I need for my uni work and it's a bit cheaper, too, than if I bought it on my own. I'm just wondering if it would also be OK for my full time working computer as well? I'm just a bit worried how it will handle heavy 300dpi works and the size also worries me (it's 13.3 inch Macbook). And what about the screen overall? I don't really trust those laptop colors @_@ Ugh. Difficult. One choice would be to save for a MacBook Pro if I really have to get a laptop, they say it's much better in any way. (then again, I wouldn't get the programs I need..SIGH)

and finally, here's Edgeworth reading..something..man, I need to draw another picture of him since this one is rather..plain. It makes me laugh how my cousin (whom I also got to play the games) calls him Ruffle (or Röyhelö in Finnish) x'D That name has stayed, too.

So yeah, I'm really going to draw some small comic again. Be my witnesses as I say this so I can't take back my words that easily, haha xD It will be a little story revealing a bit from my character's, Fjännir's, past. I'm planning to make it b/w but the shading etc will be CGed.
I have the story pretty much figured, I just need to write it. I'm not sure when I get to work with the actual pages though, my commissions and some summer activities are keeping me busy enough for now. Plus I'm moving in the autumn so that takes some time, too..But the most important thing is that I'm getting started, right?

One reason why I'm trying to draw a comic again is to make peace with myself again..I think my previous attempts have been rather terrible so I haven't dared to think about them for a long time. Yes, you learn from your mistakes and I don't think they've been waste of time..but they still bother me, no matter what! Art causes so much joy but also so much pain...Because art is your creation, conveying what and how you think, feel and see..With comics it's not just about the drawings but also about the story, the writing, and it matters even more to me. So if I think my writing has failed, it feels like I've failed myself: The writing reveals how incomplete my thoughts are and how my thinking is shrouded.

In conclusion, I'm trying once again to show myself that I can do it and I can be content with my creations. I'll draw it only for the sake of myself and I'll try not to demand too much, either. I realize I just have to keep going and try again and again..and also accept the fact that I make mistakes all the time, but...so what?

These are all pretty low effort tho.. (like almost all my trad art, ehm)

Whut, do I see a mermaid thar? I don't usually like drawing mythical beings like mermaids, centaurs, nagas etc etc because..um..I know it sounds stupid (because it IS stupid) but it kinda feels like I'm drawing...fanart x'D Meaning, I don't feel them as my own somehow. I have nothing against them tho, no no..but they just don't work with me, that's all. (lmao, perhaps I should include angels too.. xDDDDD)

The quality of the watercolors used for this was crappy. But the colors were nicer than the ones in my quality watercolors. HMMMMM.

I also made a Pixiv account (just because the fullview requires registration. No no, I'm not going to submit anything there...ever). I bookmarked so many artists+images already...Of course there's also crappy art, but the amount of "ZOMG AMAZING" is.....HUGE. Damn those japanese. (it's also amusing how it's pretty hard to find an artist who hasn't drawn any Vocaloid fanart xDDDD)
